Are Human translations better than computer

translations?

  • Although there is always room for error in language translation, many feel that computer translations can never live up to the quality of human translators. Human translations are done by humans who have experience in the field and, preferably, who speak the language that documents are translated into fluently. Many translators work in translations that include their native tongue.

  • Computer translations may take more time and are sometimes not completely accurate, many feel that there is nothing that can replace human translations. After all, a computer will not speak the language itself and a human translator will. Human translations contain much less chance of incomplete sentences or grammatical errors simply because the translator is actually being paid to ensure that the document or text is translated correctly.

  • There will always be the argument that states that computer translators are much less expensive. Users can pay a one-time fee for the software program and then use it repeatedly. Human translators will require payment each time that they are needed. Another point is that some online computer translators are free. Keep in mind, however, that you get what you pay for and if documents are needed for business purposes, as most translations are, then it may make better business sense to simply pay for the human translations whenever needed.

  • There will be arguments for both human and computer translators. The real determination on which is better lies with the user and their needs. What do you think?
